Sustainability has become a priority across many industries and companies are actively seeking ways to conserve resources and reduce environmental impact. Here at Water Tecnik, we’re helping businesses meet these goals by providing solutions to recycle and reuse washwater, supporting their journey to net-zero emissions and long-term sustainability.
The Role of Water Tecnik in Washwater Reuse
Our equipment enables companies to recycle their washwater and process water by removing contaminants. By treating contaminated water and removing pollutants, we help businesses to reuse water in their processes, which helps to cut costs and environmental impact.
Washwater Reuse in a Plastics Recycling Company
Recycling companies are a major user of recycled washwater and recently, we worked with a large plastics recycling company to help them reuse the wash water in their plant. Their MRF (Materials Recycling Facility) generates a large amount of washwater during the plastics recycling process. With our specialised equipment, the water is treated to remove contaminants, making it safe and clean enough to be pumped back into the system for reuse. This recycling process has significantly reduced the operating costs for washing plants.
Soil Remediation Plant in Philadelphia, USA
One of our latest projects involved the installation of a DAF (Dissolved Air Flotation) system at a soil remediation plant in Philadelphia, Here, it will play a crucial role in removing hydrocarbon contaminants. It will process dirty wash water, leaving it clean for reuse at a rate of 150,000 litres (39,626 gallons) per hour. This treatment process not only supports the plant’s sustainable practices but also allows the facility to recycle vast amounts of water, drastically reducing the need for new water input.

The Benefits of Wash Water Reuse for Sustainability Goals
Water reuse offers companies many benefits. By recycling washwater, these companies lower their reliance on freshwater sources, which eases the demand on municipal water infrastructure and protects local water resources. Additionally, when companies reduce the amount of water they need to source, transport, and treat, they directly reduce energy use and associated emissions. This energy savings is a key step in achieving their net-zero emissions targets and is especially impactful for industries that consume large volumes of water.

At Water Tecnik, we’re dedicated to helping companies transform their water management practices with effective solutions. Whether it’s through providing equipment and chemicals for contaminant removal or bespoke water recycling plants, we enable businesses to integrate sustainable practices seamlessly into their operations.
