Why Did You Get a Non-Compliant Trade Effluent Warning Letter?
There are easy steps we can take to deal with a non-compliant trade effluent warning letter and ensure you are soon compliant with wastewater and trade effluent discharge limits.
Do You Discharge Trade Effluent?
If any liquid from your business operations is discharged into the wastewater system, you are discharging trade effluent. Trade effluent includes any water from production, washing or cooling facilities at commercial premises.
Your Consent to Discharge
You have a legal responsibility to ensure that your trade effluent is of sufficient quality to be discharged to a sewer, river or other waterway. The required quality is known as your trade effluent consent to discharge limit.
Threat of Legal Action
If you’re currently exceeding your trade effluent consent to discharge limits, you are non-compliant and breaking the law. You need to take immediate action to improve the effluent quality or legal action could be taken against your business.
Stay Legal, Save Money
If that all sounds daunting, don’t worry: not only will we guide you through the process of becoming compliant with trade effluent discharge limits, but the measures we put in place will ultimately save your business time and money.
Improving Wastewater Quality
Have you received a warning letter about non-compliance with trade effluent discharge limits from your local authority or utility company? Perhaps your effluent discharge is within consent limits, but you would like to improve the discharge quality to ensure lower charges against the Mogden formula.
In either case, we will work with you to remove the contaminants present in your trade effluent and improve wastewater quality for your business. To do this we will first identify the most suitable wastewater treatment equipment to deal with your business’ specific needs.
For example, if you’re in the food and drinks industry, your trade effluent discharge is prone to high levels of fats, oils and grease. We can cut expensive effluent bills and avoid fines for breaches of consent by putting in place a targeted wastewater treatment system.
